Summer 2024 proved to be an exceptional conference season for the Cohen Lab, with members attending four prestigious conferences spanning the USA and Europe:
GRC Meiosis – New London, USA
GRC Mammalian Reproduction – Barcelona, Spain
SSR – Dublin, Ireland
FASEB Recombination – Tucson, USA
Several lab members delivered impactful talks highlighting the lab’s groundbreaking research:
Stephanie presented her novel Cas13d mouse model for high-throughput screening of reproductive mutations at both SSR and GRC Mammalian Reproduction.
Leah gave talks at SSR and GRS Mammalian Reproduction, sharing her work on BRDT regulation in vitro as a model to identify novel gene targets for non-hormonal male contraception.
Connor presented at GRS Mammalian Reproduction on how a naked mole rat extracellular matrix component can mitigate aging-related changes in uterine redox in mice.
Tegan spoke at GRC Meiosis on the dynamics of pro-crossover factors and how they different across mouse sexes and strains.
Paula gave a talk at GRC Meiosis about the lab’s work on MSCI and sex body formation, focusing on the role of argonaute proteins in regulating these processes.
In addition to presenting, the season brought along awards for the lab. Leah was awarded the MCI-Male Contraceptive Initiative Poster award. Stephanie was awarded the trainee travel award for SSR. Anna received the Andrew Kligerman Fund Travel Award. Congratulations everyone!
